The city was gross. Slime and gunk filled with streets, dirtying Morse's shoes. A fetid odor hung in the air and stung the ends of his nostrils. The city was so gross, Morse even had a rank taste stuck in the back of his throat. It was early morning in Yuri City, and the sun had yet to rise into the sky. The streets were alone and abandoned in this pregnant morning, save for the singular Researcher carrying a couple of Pokeballs. He was dressed in a stark, clean white that was even brighter and cleaner juxtaposed with the dark purple and hazy green of the city. His lab coat was new, and although it was inappropriate for the situation, he liked the respect tied to it so he kept it on. He wore a dress shirt under it. It was light blue and the same shade of his eyes, which was a happy coincidence. Below his shirt was a belt with some improvised button holes to fit Morse's physique and under that was a pair of slacks. The one thing setting off the formal tone of respect and quiet dignity was the pair of bright red shoes covered in gunk sticking out brightly in the dark.

On his belt, were two Pokeballs. In those Pokeballs, Angel and Seattle. Angel, pronounced like "Ahn-hel," was a Charmander and an arrogant one at that. Morse's first Pokemon, he picked up Angel before even coming to Honiso. Next to him on the belt was Seattle. Ever the lady, Morse found her egg and hatched it himself. Morse loved them both, but got along better with Seattle. Unfortunately, Angel was the one who needed training today. Morse clicked open his Pokeball, knowing the fire type should adjust to the horrendous smell now and not get used to it mid-battle. There was a brilliant flash of red light, and the orange lizard Angel appeared in the middle of the street. His nostrils flared up in disgust at the city, but otherwise he made no indication he disliked the smell. His alight tail helped light up the otherwise dark morning and illuminate the wild Pokemon stalking the city before there was the sun to reveal their actions.

Angel was visibly taken aback by how the wild Grimer crept through the street so easily. Did no one care? How is it these humans could pass by the filth everyday and do nothing about it? Oh, well. If they wouldn't do something, Angel would. The Charmander glanced at his trainer. He seemed to have taken out his notepad and was scribbling furiously. Angel guessed it was notes, or a sketch. He sighed, guessing that his trainer wouldn't be of much use in this fight.

Being a bright orange lizard with your tail on fire, Angel quickly learned there was no stealthy way to begin a battle. But he was fine with that. Stealth never really was a big part of his fighting style. He liked it up close and personal, trading blows with his enemy and dealing more damage. So the confident Charmander sauntered up to a Grimer, taking care not to engage a group of them. His chest was puffed up like a seat cushion and his chin was high. He held his arms at his side flexing a bit and trying to appear impressive.

Despite his grandiose attitude and showmanship, Angel wasn't even sure the Grimer could see him. The Grimer's back was to him and the thick smog was hard to penetrate. Angel decided to quickly fix that. He tapped the Grimer lightly with his claw. Then he swung hard and inaccurately with a Scratch, trying to rake his claws across the Grimer's eyes.

The scratch hit, although it didn't do quite as much damage as you would have hoped. The Grimer had turned the moment Charmander tapped it's 'shoulder', if that's what it was, and proceeded to instinctively close it's eyes when it saw the lizard's incoming claws. Charmanders claws sunk into the poisonous creature's slime mold like body, causing the fire type to cry out in alarm. Was he stuck? Kind of. He wasn't literally trapped, but it would take some effort to remove his hand from the Grimer's sticky hold. As Angel was caught momentarily, the Grimer's stench filled the air around them. It caused Charmander's eyes to water, as he gagged involuntarily. The Grimer snickered, wincing slightly as it had still taken damage from the initial scratch attack.

"Griiii-" It began, before suddenly lunging forward and pounding Charmander mercilessly. The two fell, Grimer on top, onto the ground. Charmander could feel himself getting pulled into Grimer's spongy body... It was disturbing, to say the least.

How exactly heavy was a Grimer? Morse was taking notes on the poison type found all over Yuri, and he was trying to guesstimate the weight of the Pokemon for his notes. He had height and relative width, but the only way to truly gauge its weight would be too pick it up. Morse sighed. He did not want to do that. But he begrudgingly put his notebook away and was about to take out gloves from his bag when he was the most curious thing.

Angel was waltzing up to the Grimer like he was Mayor of Yuri City. "Shit." Morse mumbled under his breath, impressed by the sheer size of his Pokemon's guts that were hanging between his lizard legs. That's when he raised his claw in the air and struck the poison-type. "Shit!" Morse said, even more impressed by his Pokemon. Though he had no respect for authority or tendency to plan, you had to give him credit for bravery. That was when the Charmander's torso and head were sucked into the Grimer. "SHIT!" Only his orange legs and tail stuck out, which would have been hilarious had he been stuck in jell-o and not a disgusting translucent Grimer.

Angel started thrashing immediately upon being sucked into the Grimer, terrified and out of control. He had his mouth and eyes shut tightly and was desperately trying to get the nasty Pokemon to release him immediately. He even swung his legs and tail around outside of the Grimer, hoping to cause the thing enough pain and discomfort that it would let him go. I'll never complain about anything...ever. Thought the prideful Pokemon as it had its half-seizure inside the enemy Pokemon.

((OOC: I literally laughed out loud writing this. This is definitely not where I thought this would go. XD))

The Grimer gulped, it's eyes bulging out of it's body- almost as if there was too much of Charmander inside of it, and it had to make some more room... Or not. It's eyes bulged, but it's body was wrapping itself around the poor lizard as he thrashed violently, attempting to escape but to no avail. Soon Angel would be almost completely engulfed, and he could feel poisonous gas choking him, making it even more difficult to breathe without fear of getting poisoned. The Grimer cackled, despite the miserable look on it's face; clearly it didn't much like having a fire type in what was supposedly it's 'belly'. It burped- fumes of noxious gas clouding the area above it. "Griii..." The putty like creature groaned, almost as if it were about to have a sick episode.

Angel could physically feel the uncomfortable lurches from inside the Grimer. Unfortunately, he was up to his waist in Grimer and couldn't properly register that fact. However, he did calm down a bit and start thinking. He needed to get out of this thing. He moved his arms like a swimmer, trying to backstroke his way out of the Grimer. He moved so much he was able to get his feet and the floor, which he quickly and firmly locked there. Once he had a solid grip on the ground, the Charmander scratched from the inside of the Poison-type, luckily getting near its eyes.

The scratch attack did hit the Grimer in the eyes; causing a critical. It did severe damage, but at a cost. The sudden pain caused the poison type to hunch over and pretty much vomit... Although it managed to get Charmander out- Grimer spat out rotten something (it was past the point of recognition) all over the lizard, and coughed up poisonous gas right in Angel's face. Charmander was immediately poisoned, and now he was covered in... Whatever that stuff was. Grimer groaned, swerving from side to side as it's one good eye bulged- the other squeezed shut.

Angel struggled to his feet, covered in poison and feeling like death itself was pushing him around. But he wouldn't give up yet. He took a step towards his enemy. Then another. Another step. He raised his claw in the air to strike his enemy, standing just barely within striking distance. Then he let it fall, pushing the rest of his energy into the strike and hoping gravity would be enough to finish off his enemy.

Grimer was finally knocked out- it actually wouldn't have been fainted if it weren't for it's sudden sickness, but, what's done is done. Charmander gained 1 experience point (and gained one level)- but was simply too tired for another battle any time soon.

Morse winced, watching his diseased Pokemon push itself even farther. Then he grinned wide as the Grimer fainted. He was about to do a celebratory victory dance when he noticed Angel's swaying. It looked like he was going to topple over and land face first into the fainted poison-type. He was halfway down his descent when a beam of red light sucked him back into his Pokeball. Morse looked back at the Grimer. The only way to properly calculate its weight would require touching it anyway... Morse sighed and expanded a white Premier ball before lightly tossing it at the fainted Grimer. He bet himself silently that he was one of the only trainers to purposely make himself an owner of a Grimer.
