Lucas was outside the gym, was he ready for this? Was he ready to go into that gym and battle with the gym leader and take his first step towards becoming a Champion? Damn right he was, there was fire in this kid's eyes, a look that showed all of the determination that he possessed, he was ready for this now more than ever, he was going to go in there, beat the Gym Leader, take the Chi Badge, and resume his adventure, it would be that simple, Lucas was confident in his pokémon, he knew he could win, he was certain, he had formed an inseperable bond with his pokémon, he was proud of them, and he loved them to bits, and now he was going to get the badge and prove his love for pokémon, and showing them just how tight the bond between them was.

He walked towards the door, entering the Gym, wondering what awaited him.

The moment you walked in lights immediately flashed on you from above as you would by instinct shield you eyes. The glare was bright but ahead of you, you would see the gym leader.
"Hello there challenger!" She would boom across the field, "I am Venus Dilitrio, the Isido town Gym leader," As she was about to continue she held her tongue for a brief moment, "You are a challenger...right?" you could see the look of embarrassment on her face for asking the question, maybe she had good intentions behind it, maybe not.

When Lucas entered the gym, it was completely dark, until the bright flash of stage lights starting filled the room with a harsh white light, , Lucas shielding his eyes from the light and trying to get used to how bright it was, and then he heard a voice boom from ahead of him, it was the voice of a woman who was obviously introducing herself to him in a somewhat obnoxious manner, "Yes, I have come here to take the Chi Badge." Lucas affirmed, blinking a bit to adjust his eyes to the sheer amount of light.

"Sorry about the lights, I have no idea why they keep doing that, its so annoying,"She bowed and apologized, "Well i'm glad you are a challenger," She said pulling out a pokeball. She stared at it and nodded then she looked at you, "I'll let you choose your pokemon first," She said as she pulled out another ball, nodding. She had two pokeballs in her hands as she looked at them back and forth. "I hope we both have fun with it," she said.

Lucas had eventually gotten used to the lights, but what the lights did do was give a sense of pressure, as if they were in a stadium and everybody was watching them, "It's alright, I suppose it's natural for a gym to have some form of special lighting or attributes." he spoke, understanding her perfectly, he looked a bit perplexed when she said that he should draw out the first pokémon. He didn't like going first, especially when he was battling a lady. "Well then, go Nova!" he spoke, throwing his pokéball towards the middle of the terrain, the red capture beam firing into the floor as an Aron was deployed into the battlefield. "Aron!" the Aron cooed, waiting for its' opponent.

"Ooooo!!" The Gymleader said looking at your Aron in awe as you could see her eyes dazzled, "I've never scene a steel type pokemon in my life before up till now," She clapped her hands together and put them to one side of her face. Her eyes filled with stars. "Soo cute!" She said as she then threw a pokeball in your direction, "Go Venipede," out came the poison bug.

Lucas looked a bit perplexed, it seemed as if this woman was into drama and commotion, with all the fuss she was making over his Aron, who he himself also looked rather stunned at her expression, but he wouldn't get distracted, all Nova needed to do was beat this Venipede and everything would work out to his advantage. "You attack first." Lucas allowed, wanting her to strike first, just to see what her pokémon were capable of.

The gym leader gathered herself together as she regained her concentration. She looked at you with a modest look. "That is not how things work in my gym Mister," She said smiling, "In order to show and respect my Gym leader title I must let the challenger make the first move," She looked at you, "It is only normal protocol after all," She smiled, but you could see a tiny sinister sneer behind it. "So you shall make the first move sir,"

It seemed that Venus was not keen on her making the first move, saying that it's more honorable as a gym leader to let the challenger attack, Lucas wasn't going to object, as she wanted him to, so he might as well just get the battle started already. "Well then, let the battle begin." He grinned. "Nova! Use Headbutt!" he commanded, the Aron running towards the Venipede and trying to smash his head against the Venipede, this attack should do quite a bit of damage due to Aron's weight and his rock and steel construction.

The gym leader looked at you a bit puzzled, "Why so direct?" She said as she looked at her venipede who seemed to be staring at the aron, "Very well then," She began then shot a finger at the hurdling Aron, "Venipede, counter the aron's Headbutt with your rollout attack," The venipede nodded as it began to use rollout rolling toward the Aron in a spiral like manner, "I want to see something," She spoke below her breath where only she could hear it.

Aron looked determined, he wasn't going to lose to this pokémon, no way in hell, he had to win this match, and it was all up to him now, he noticed that the Venipede was rolling towards it, due to the Heavy Metal ability of an Aron, he weighed about 120 kilograms, so he wasn't going anywhere. Aron simply continued to push forwards, raising his head and trying to bring it down upon the unfortunate Venipede.

"So that is how this is going to be," The gymleader spoke as she let the move hit her venipede who was sent flying back to her. It rolled and tumbled on the floor, but nothing to make it instantly dazed. "New plan!" She said as she looked at the aron briefly. "So, now I get it," She returned venipede and sent out roselia, "I am down to one pokemon now, looks like you might win," She said smiling.

Lucas grinned as the Venipede was sent flying back from Aron's Headbutt attack, causing it to take damage and forcing Venus to swap pokémon, so Lucas figured he'd do the same, returning his Aron and sending out his Gastly, Nightmare, whom he had been training a lot with in the past week in order to build up his strength, it was now time to see if he had what it takes to beat the Gym Leader's last pokémon.

"A gastly, now that is a pokemon I remember," The gymleader said smiling, "It is a ghost and poison type," She thought to herself for a quick moment as she looked at your ghastly again, "Somethings not right here," She looked at roselia, "Do not let your guard down under any circumstances okay roselia," The roselia saluted Venus as the matchw as getting ready to commence. "You shall have the first move," She spoke staring you down with a smile.

Lucas smirked as she sent out her Roselia, he had heard a lot about this pokémon, as it was Venus' first, and the pokémon she grew up with, and the pokémon which had a strong bond with her, and she would probably prove to be a formidable foe, Nightmare had to do his best, but Lucas figured he'd start off easy. "Nightmare, use Hypnosis!" Lucas commanded, as Gastly shot a spiral shaped beam at the Roselia, which should make it fall into a deep sleep once it made contact and give Nightmare a large chunk of time to attack again.

"Roselia," Venus said looking at you intently hoping that her roselia could pull it off, "Dodge," The roselia did as told as it maneuvered itself in such away to dodge the hypnosis by just a hair. As it skidded to the left venus called out, "Use leech seed!" she yelled as the roselia fired its rose in your general direction shooting out a seed that if touched your gastly will slowly drain its energy and give it to roselia. "Lets see what he does," Venus said to herself.
